When We Don't Exist

When We Don't Exist Review

Like Moths To Flames burst into the flourishing Ohio metal-core scene in early 2010. The band created a huge buzz locally which caught the attention of Rise, who has a knack of finding the "next big thing." They quickly signed to Rise and released an EP through the label which was released Dec. 2010. LMTF features Chris Roetter who fronted Emarosa early on and Agraceful. They have a well seasoned frontman, an amazing album and a killer team in place (Rise, Outerloop Mgmt and The Agency Group) to take this band to the next level. For fans of Asking Alexandria, We Came As Romans and TDWP.

Perpetual Flame

Perpetual Flame Review

Yngwie Malmsteen's 2008 master piece is entitled Perpetual Flame, an 11-track CD bringing in a new line up of musicians featuring Tim "Ripper"Owens, the ex-vocalist of Judas Priest and Iced Earth. The album was produced by Yngwie, engineered and mixed by Roy Z (Judas Priest, White Snake, Rob Halford). Yngwie Malmsteen is one of Rock's premiere virtuoso guitarists. Yngwie has dominated the world of solo guitar for two decades. When he was barely 20, Yngwie exploded onto the music scene with his jaw-dropping technique of lightning fast harmonic minor scalar riffing. 12 tracks.

Soul Sanctuary

Soul Sanctuary Review

The Hollywood Blue Flames began life in 1975 as The Hollywood Fats Band, led by guitar phenomenon Michael 'Hollywood Fats' Mann, and featuring what was arguably the best traditional blues line-up this side of 1954 - the multi-talented Al Blake on harmonica and vocals, legendary bassist Larry Taylor from Canned Heat, veteran drummer Richard Innes, and featuring Lloyd Glenn protege Fred Kaplan on piano. Sadly, Fats passed away unexpectedly in 1986, and the band members all went on to other successful musical ventures.

Now they've reunited for one of the most anticipated blues releases in years, under the banner The Hollywood Blue Flames - appropriately named, as they both fired and carry the torch of the blues into a new millennium. And to fill the huge musical shoes of Fats, no one could be a better choice than Kirk Fletcher, a young man who was literally raised on the sounds pioneered by the original incarnation of this band. Fletcher plays with the taste and power that truly does justice to not only this band's illustrious legacy but also the blues masters who inspired them.

The Hollywood Blue Flames literally burn their way through a set of fresh originals sprinkled with well-chosen covers on their new CD Soul Sanctuary. This is blues with both a history and a future - and it's as fresh as today. It doesn't get any better than The Hollywood Blue Flames.

Originally commissioned to write the music for "Lord Of The Dance", Flatley was soon catapulted to fame and has won a huge number of credits and awards for his work.

Cowboy in Flames

Cowboy in Flames Review

The Waco Brothers began as nothing more than an excuse for a bunch of aging punk-rockers to scratch their itch for country music. A couple of England's Mekons and members of the American Midwest bands Wreck and the Bottle Rockets got together in Chicago to romp through their favorite Johnny Cash and George Jones tunes. But as so often happens with country music, the more these musicians scratched, the more they itched. Soon it wasn't enough to just do faithful covers; then they had to write their own songs and come up with distinctive arrangements that did justice to both their honky-tonk heroes and punk roots. The results have been 1995's debut album, ... To the Last Dead Cowboy, and the even better, Cowboy in Flames. --Geoffrey Himes

Gypsy Flame

Gypsy Flame Review

This self-produced, composed and arranged release is the sophomore effort from guitarist extraordinaire Armik. Influenced by the sounds of the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and South America, with echoes of Spain and Greece, Armik's flamenco style is dominant throughout the percussion and synthesizer backdrops. Amazingly, the guitar work for each of the album's twelve sumptuous tracks was recorded in just one take. This sort of virtuosity is apparent on several highlights, including the sizzling title track, the irresistible salsa-flavored Dancing Shadows and Meet You in Heaven, an emotionally-charged tribute to Armik's late mother, Shooshanik.

Catch-Flame!

Catch-Flame! Review

The first-ever live, full band electric album from Paul Weller, and it's a corker! Includes 23 songs from all phases of his career, including three tunes from his former band The Jam and two from The Style Council. An absolute must have for anyone interested in anything this man has ever done (his songs fare even better in this live arrangement) or for any fan of classic, soulful, timeless rock music, in general. Paul Weller just gets better & better.

Much like the first record, this album was founded in a situation of self-imposed isolation, with the band operating in states of little or no sleep, varying levels of intoxication, and physical confinement.
